General Info

  • The Fete-Dieu du Teche is held annually on August 15, the Feast of the Assumption. The Eucharistic Boat Procession begins in Leonville, La., and ends in St. Martinville, La. For the procession route and schedule of events, please download our event flyer.

  • Registration is only required if you wish to participate in the boat procession. To register your boat and sign waivers for all passengers, please click here.

    If you do not wish to participate in the boat procession, we invite you to participate by attending one or all of the stops along the procession route. Please see our map & schedule to plan your pilgrimage!

  • Yes. The Fete occurs on the Solemnity of the Assumption of Mary, which is a Holy Day of Obligation. The opening Mass celebrated in French by Bishop John Douglass Deshotel, Bishop of Lafayette, at St. Leo’s in Leonville at 8:00 a.m. will fulfill your obligation.

  • Confession will be available at all stops along the bayou, including:

    St. Leo the Great, Leonville (6:45am-7:45am St. Francis, Arnaudville (10-11:00am) St. Joseph, Cecilia (11:30am-12:30pm) St. Bernard, Breaux Bridge (1:00-2:30pm) Parks, Cecil R. Poche Memorial Park, 1019 Periou St, Parks, LA 70582 (3:00-4:00pm)

  • No food or t-shirts are sold during the procession. Please prepare to bring food, snacks, and drinks if you plan to participate all day. You can picnic in between stops. We ask you to refrain from eating in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament during the disembarkment, rosary & Benediction, and embarkment. Water will be available and given out at all stops.

  • We encourage dressing in modest attire and request that no shorts, short skirts, tank tops, or muscle shirts be worn since we will be in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament.

  • Yes! Livestream information will be posted prior to the procession.

  • You can order a Fete t-shirt and either pick it up in St. Martinville or have it shipped to you by visiting our order page.
